Canadian cannabis company YourWay Cannabis Brands Inc. YOUR YOURF HOB reported Friday that it received a complaint against the company.
The consumer-centric House of Brands, which focuses on redefining the way consumers and cannabis brands interact, revealed that marijuana giant Trulieve Cannabis Corp. TCNNF, Harvest Health & Recreation and Randy Taylor Consulting filed a verified complaint in the Arizona Superior Court against, among others, the company, Labtronix (doing business as Venom Extracts) and YourWay Cottonwood. The plaintiffs claim that the defendants, their related entities and employees, participated in unlawful kickback schemes to the detriment of the plaintiffs.
While the company has not yet filed a response to the complaint, YourWay current management team is working to investigate the claims as the alleged misconduct occurred prior to the tenure of the current management team. YourWay does not currently make any payments of the type alleged in the complaint. Once the company's board of directors has authorized a proposed course of action, and will provide stakeholders with a further update.
While YourWay Cannabis confirmed receipt of the complaint on Friday, news of the lawsuits was already covered by media a month ago. Green Market reported that Trulieve sued its two ex-purchasing managers and at least five other cannabis businesses in Arizona for taking part in alleged "kickback schemes" that granted them advantageous shelf space at the company's 21 marijuana outlets statewide.
