Erica Rise, a lawyer at Foley Hoag was a panelist on a panel called “Building a Successful Cannabis Business While Regulations Catch Up” at Benzinga’s Cannabis Conference. Rise approached the conversation of regulation from a different lens than her panelists. Simply put, she sees the success of adhering to the different regulations in different states as having good legal counsel that can help advise a company.
Laws and regulations are not easily digestible, and it is difficult for business owners to navigate without the help of someone trained to do so. She also shared the importance of maintaining good communication and relationships with regulators.
