Do you know which state offers the most affordable medical marijuana products?
Thanks to cannabis advocates and reformers, there are now 40 states and the District of Columbia where it is legal to provide medical marijuana (MMJ). This is great news for the patients, however, the price for this natural medicine varies quite a bit depending on where you live.
Medical marijuana professionals at Leafwell decided to undertake price comparisons across the U.S., which led them to review more than 130,000 products sold in MMJ dispensaries, writes News 4 Tuscon. Leafwell proceeded to determine which states sells the cheapest price-per-gram medical marijuana.
“The comprehensive study on the average price-per-gram of medicinal marijuana has revealed encouraging results,” Josh Lamb, CMO for Leafwell said. “Across various states, patients and individuals seeking medicinal relief will find a diverse landscape of affordable options. These findings highlight the accessibility and affordability of medicinal marijuana in multiple regions, demonstrating a positive trend that benefits patients in their pursuit of holistic healthcare solutions.”

What is the most expensive state?
You probably guessed it: New York, which sells medical marijuana for $23.17 per gram on average. Compared to Oregon, that’s 235.31% more expensive. It’s also nearly 10 bucks higher than the national average. Considering the legal prices, it is not surprising that New York still struggles with so many illegal operators, among slow license roll-out, lawsuits, and other issues.
