Trump Spokesperson Suggests Ron DeSantis Buy Some Cannabis Edibles To Ease The Stress

The clash between Republican presidential candidates Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump continues and it's just gotten spiced up with cannabis.

Political advisor and Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung verbally attacked the Florida Governor, ironically suggesting he should sample some local marijuana products while visiting Nevada, reported Florida Politics.

“Maybe Ron should consider visiting a smoke shop and buy some edibles to take the stress away, something (Never Back Down strategist) Jeff Roe should know about since he’s lobbying for marijuana legalization in Iowa,” Cheung said.

The biggest irony here is the fact that DeSantis is known for his anti-cannabis stance. In June, he made it clear he would not decriminalize cannabis if elected US President.

While DeSantis has shown a willingness to accept medical marijuana, he has consistently opposed legalization for recreational purposes, citing concerns over its potential harm. Earlier in August, DeSantis reiterated his opposition to legalized marijuana at a presidential campaign event in Iowa, expressing concern that children might access cannabis adulterated with fentanyl.

What’s more, when it comes to weed, Trump does not necessarily have an opposing view from DeSantis. Though he recently acknowledged that marijuana is a “pretty popular thing” among voters, he still argues that drug dealers should get the death penalty.

In view of this, it is highly unlikely that either of the two presidential candidates will turn to cannabis to ease the stress of campaigning. But it is very likely that they'll continue exchanging biting remarks like these.
