Open Book Extracts (OBX), a cannabinoid product manufacturer, has inked a term sheet to acquire Nucl3o, a processor of high-purity cannabinoid isolates, Benzinga Cannabis has learned exclusively. This acquisition marks a significant move in the cannabinoid industry, as it combines OBX's large-scale production capabilities with Nucl3o's expertise in cannabinoid ingredient manufacturing, elevating both companies' global distribution.
Who's Who
OBX, with its 76,000-square-foot facility near Durham, North Carolina, is known for its organic, kosher and halal-certified research and production. The company specializes in manufacturing cannabinoid ingredients and a variety of finished goods such as gummies, softgels, tinctures and beverage enhancers. Its approach includes concept-to-market formulation and product development, utilizing advanced water-soluble technology and unique delivery mechanisms.
Nucl3o, based in Nevada, has established itself as a leader in the production of hemp-derived cannabinoids. The combined entity plans to invest substantially in scaled production to meet the demands of its worldwide distribution channels.
The Next Step In A Strategic Plan
Dave Neundorfer, CEO of OBX expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition. “Having collaborated on complimentary parts of the supply chain to validate a combined value proposition, we are thrilled to officially join forces to bring the best-in-class, low-cost, highly quality ingredient production and finished good innovation and manufacturing to market.”
