Massachusetts regulators have voted 3-1 to potentially ease the two-person delivery rule for cannabis – which requires two people for every cannabis delivery, a decision that could reduce operational costs for transport businesses. The Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission’s move, not yet in effect, requires formal rule rewriting and a subsequent vote, reported WCVB.
This change comes amid challenges in the state’s legal cannabis market, including low wholesale prices and the suspension of CCC chair Shannon O’Brien.

Kenneth Gay, a Michigan resident and cannabis entrepreneur, has filed a lawsuit against Washington’s cannabis regulators, challenging the rejection of his retail license application under the state’s social equity program.
Gay, with previous legal victories in New York and ongoing litigation in Los Angeles, contests Washington’s six-month residency requirement as unconstitutional, arguing it unfairly burdens out-of-state applicants, according to MJBizDaily.

Colorado is awarding $800,000 in grants for cannabis research, funding six new studies on topics like impairment detection, addiction and the impact of cannabis on autism. The funding, managed by Colorado State University-Pueblo’s Institute of Cannabis Research, will support research at CSU and the University of Colorado, enhancing understanding of cannabis’ effects and cultivation methods, as Westword reported.
Virginia Senate Leader Ties Sports Stadium Approval To Cannabis Legal Sales
Virginia Senate Leader Louis Lucas has suggested that her support for a sports stadium in Alexandria might depend on the legalization of cannabis sales. The discussions involve bringing the Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals to Virginia, with plans for a $2 billion entertainment district in Alexandria, according to Marijuana Moment.
With Democrats now holding majorities in both the House and Senate, there is renewed hope for legalizing cannabis sales in the state.
Syracuse Bus Service Halts Cannabis Ads Amid Legal Confusion
Centro, a Syracuse bus service, removed Flynnstoned cannabis dispensary ads due to unclear regulations. While the law mentions ads being prohibited in public transit, not on it, uncertainty remains. Centro also questions the legality of running a PSA about avoiding driving high, as CNY Central noted.
The Office of Cannabis Management has yet to provide clarity on the issue.
