As the romance between pop star Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce keeps millions in its love-drenched grip, speculation about the happy couple is nearly as prevalent as who will take home the Vince Lombardi Trophy at this weekend's Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.
No doubt a whole new fan base will be watching this year as rumors swirl around Kelce's next move: Will he pop the question?
If so, there's a venue ready to accommodate the happy couple. Las Vegas Cannabis Weddings announced it would throw a free weed-themed wedding for the lovebirds at the world’s largest cannabis dispensary, Planet 13 Holdings Inc PLNHF, according to TMZ.
Apparently, the venue holds symbolic significance for Swift, whose lucky number is 13. And Kelce is not shy about his relationship with cannabis. In an appearance on SNL in March, Kelce told the live audience, "I actually got kicked off the team for testing positive for marijuana, so it just goes to show that if you smoke weed and you’re bad at school, you can win the Super Bowl twice!”
He also told the world in June that the majority of NFL players use cannabis for various reasons and explained how they pass the now not-so-strict drug tests.
Get Yourself A Free Vegas Wedding
While celebrities don't often opt for free Las Vegas weddings, Cannabis Weddings is hoping to snag some publicity by offering all customers who want to tie the knot during this weekend's big game.
If the Kansas City Chiefs win, the first 100 couples to sign up can get hitched for just $87, a nod to Kelce’s jersey number.
Another wedding site competitor, the Little White Chapel — known for hosting Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s ceremony — is offering free weddings to all players and staff from both Super Bowl teams, including Swift and Kelce, of course. Chapel officials said after the Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers won their respective conference championship games, searches for “Vegas wedding” skyrocketed 354%.
So, if wedding bells are ringing in the back of your mind, brush off your suit and gown and head to Nevada this weekend for a Vegas wedding with a celebrity twist.
