Micah Anderson of LEEF Brands, Inc. LEEF LEEEF is a true testament to hard work and determination. The serial entrepreneur and upcoming speaker at Benzinga's Cannabis Market Spotlight: California event, is leading the overall strategy of the California-based cannabis extraction company as CEO.
Under his leadership, LEEF Brands has grown to a business led by an expert group of legacy operators with decades of experience in organic soil-based farming and sophisticated extraction practices. Moreover, it boasts developed distribution relationships with leading retailers nationwide.
As a visionary in the cannabis space, Anderson has honed his skills as a manufacturer, organic grower, farm owner, distributor, brand creator, hydroponic and nursery store operator.
Over the years, from its beginnings as a cultivator at a California ranch to running dispensaries and delivery services in southern parts of the state, with distribution being done in the northern, Anderson has been patiently preparing for legal landscapes to change.
In 2022, LEEF Brands merged with Icanic Brands Company in a $120 million deal. Anderson called the move the next stage of the LEEF Brands’ development. Last year marked another successful year for the company. After the acquisition of a cannabis dispensary and delivery service in the heart of Palm Desert in January, the company entered into an exclusive sales and licensing agreement with the Buddies Brand.
The partnership with Farming First Holdings, LLC was made public in July. That deal ensured a source of quality biomass material for LEEF, as Farming First agreed to cultivate 27 acres of biomass cannabis material for the company.
Two months later, LEEF closed the acquisition of the Salisbury Canyon Ranch LLC., a 1,900-acre ranch located in Santa Barbara County. It was a "monumental milestone" for the company according to Anderson, as it will "enable us to fully execute our vision of building one of the largest biomass cultivation sites in California."
