Do you know what it means to be Creative? Do you know how to successfully implement the skill of co-creating into your business and everyday life? If not, I welcome you to join me, as we learn together.

First, what exactly does it mean to be creative? Second, what is the main difference between co-creating for spirituality versus business and third, what are the benefits and tips of co-creating?

According to advertising legends, Al Ries, and Jack Trout, "To be creative is to create something that doesn't already exist in the mind." Writer, Jamie Birt of Indeed wrote, "Creativity is the ability to think about a task or a problem in a new or different way, or the ability to use the imagination to generate new ideas."

Spiritual writer, Phylameana Desy of Learn Religions wrote, "Co-creation is acknowledging that we are responsible for our own life and continually taking the initiative to gain success, happiness, and wellness." Phylameana believes co-creation happens naturally whenever our soul or inner knowing inspires us to act and follow our passion or pursue our life purpose.

Muthu De Silva, Assistant Dean at Birkbeck, University of London, stated that co-creation "involves the integration of partners' resources, knowledge and networks to resolve challenges or to capitalize on opportunities that they cannot, independently within individual or organizational boundaries."

MasterClass, a collective of business luminaries that includes Sara Blakely, Chris Voss, Robin Roberts, Bob Iger, Howard Schultz and Anna Wintour, wrote, "Co-creation emphasizes the co-production of value between a company and a customer."

The three benefits of co-creating, according to MasterClass are:

1. More unique ideas – Customer co-creation can lead to more creativity and open innovation, true value creation and overall better products for the company.

2. More needs-focused products – Co-creation projects help companies focus their products on the needs of their customers resulting in more customer-focused goods.

3. Stronger relationships between companies and customers – This creates an ecosystem of mutual respect and empowerment resulting in better sales, customer loyalty and more word-of-mouth recommendations.

The Indeed editorial team recommends implementing the following six tips to help you with the co-creation process:

1. Be prepared – If you are considerate of people’s time and conduct productive meetings, people might be willing to offer insightful comments.

2. Simplify the customer's process – make it as easy as possible for customers to engage with you and your brand.

3. Begin as soon as possible – it is important to involve customers in the early stages of the design process.

4. Limit the number of participants – It is more advisable to include the right customers who can offer you valuable information rather than striving to receive a large quantity of customer insight.

5. Create a conducive environment – Consider conducting the co-creation session in a setting that is not too official.

6. Be open-minded – Improve upon ideas that do not fit the company’s mission statement and values.

In paraphrasing Global Affairs Leader and Professor at Henley Business School, University of Reading, Benjamin Laker, "Co-creation can be a powerful tool for driving innovation, even during tough times. By collaborating with other companies, you can pool resources and overcome the challenges. By investing in co-creation today, you can set your business up for success tomorrow!"

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the most well-known compound in cannabis due to its euphoric effects. "THC may provide an array of medical benefits, including relief of nausea and vomiting, insomnia, appetite loss and inflammation," reported Leafly.

Statista reported that sales of cannabis beverages in the United States were valued at 203.6 million U.S. dollars in 2022, nearly tripling the Canadian market’s value of 71.3 million dollars. Beverages in the CBD market reached 8.8 million dollars in sales, making it the third largest segment according to Statista.
