The boxing legend and marijuana entrepreneur behind cannabis brand Tyson 2.0, Mike Tyson, joined the marijuana seed bank Royal Queen Seeds (RQS) in taking over the famous One Times Square billboard in New York City celebrating 4/20.
With a 20-story advertisement, Tyson, Royal Queen Seeds' president Shai Ramsahai and co-founder and CEO of CarmaHoldCo Adam Wilks marked New York's move toward legal and regulated home cultivation of cannabis for adults.
"Growing cannabis at home is one of the most rewarding experiences, and for New Yorkers looking to cultivate, Royal Queen Seeds is a trusted partner throughout their journey, from seed germination to harvesting," stated Ramsahai. "Cannabis home grow should be legal, especially in the states where you can legally purchase cannabis as an adult for recreation, yet are still prohibited or outright criminalized for growing the same plant on your own private property."
The event took place following the Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference in Florida on April 16-17, where Tyson and his sidekick Ric Flair engaged in a competition over which one of them can smoke the most weed.
The 200-foot-tall One Times Square Billboard, famous for its New Year’s countdown, encouraged New Yorkers to grow their own cannabis and included a countdown to 4:20 p.m.
"Beyond the self-recorded benefits people enjoy from home cultivation, home growers develop a deeper understanding of and relationship with cannabis and mother nature," Ramsahai continued. "As one of the largest cannabis seed banks in the world, we will continue to advocate for fair and legal home cannabis cultivation laws and regulations for personal use."
Recently, Tyson 2.0 and Carma HoldCo Inc. announced their partnership with the multinational pharmaceutical company PHCANN to exclusively cultivate, manufacture and distribute TYSON 2.0 branded THC products across Germany and the UK.
