Planet 13 Holdings Inc. PLTH PLNH, a cannabis company with operations in California, Nevada, Illinois and Florida, is making significant strides in the mixed martial arts (MMA) sector, with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) playing a pivotal role in this expansion.
This move aims to enhance Planet 13's image as an entertainment hub capable of hosting major fight events.
UFC Partnership And Athlete Sponsorship
The company is poised to reveal its first Planet 13 lifestyle-sponsored athlete, a UFC title contender who is "cannabis-friendly."
This announcement is part of a broader strategy to integrate Planet 13 more deeply into the MMA community.
Larry Scheffler, co-CEO of Planet 13, highlighted that Las Vegas, the fight capital of the world, is an ideal location for these activities. The company continues to attract top fighters and celebrities, reinforcing its position as a leading destination for cannabis and entertainment.
UFC International Fight Week Event
During the UFC International Fight Week, Planet 13 organized a four-day event, featuring meet-and-greets with fighters such as Polyana Viana, Larissa Pacheco and Vanessa Demopoulos. The event also featured appearances by Kevin Holland and Brandon Moreno and culminated in a watch party with UFC athletes like Bobby Green and Rob Font.

Dazed Consumption Lounge And Pay-Per-View Events
Derek Gumin, Planet 13’s national wholesale director, told Green Market Report that the company’s MMA venture includes showcasing UFC pay-per-view events at its new consumption lounge, Dazed.
This deal allows the company to host UFC watch parties over the next year, adding another dimension to its entertainment offerings.
Launch Of P13 Fight Club Merchandise
Additionally, Planet 13 is launching a line of fight-related merchandise under the P13 Fight Club label, which includes items like boxing gloves and Thai boxing shorts. Recently, both the NCAA and the UFC removed marijuana from their banned substances lists, recognizing that it is not a performance-enhancing drug.
Expansion Plans And Future Events
Planet 13’s facility, located near the T-Mobile Arena, is more than a dispensary. It features a restaurant, a tattoo lounge, plans for podcast studios, and a cannabis museum.
The company is also considering hosting live combat sports events, potentially through its connection with former heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson.
Planet 13 FIGHT WEEK Launch
In June 2024, Planet 13 launched its FIGHT CLUB and hosted its first FIGHT WEEK, which coincided with UFC International Fight Week. This event included meet-and-greets with MMA stars and a UFC 303 watch party at the Dazed consumption lounge, marking the debut of Planet 13’s e-commerce site for its MMA-inspired gear.
