EXCLUSIVE: House Of Kush Partners With Pleasantrees To Bring Legacy Cannabis Genetics To Michigan

Zinger Key Points
  • House of Kush's launch in Michigan is a milestone in the company’s expansion strategy, with Michigan now being the nation's biggest market.
  • Pleasantrees' connection to Michigan’s 'White Boy Rick' made it clear to House of Kush that they agreed in terms of social justice.

House of Kush, the iconic cannabis genetics brand with a storied legacy of sports, science and rapid expansion in the industry, announced its new partnership with Pleasantrees, Michigan’s premier vertically integrated cannabis cultivator. The strategic alliance seeks to introduce House of Kush’s genetics to the Michigan market, expanding their reach to a new audience.

House of Kush, which is rooted in science and based on legacy strains by preserving both the history and integrity of the past for the future, has established a strong presence in Missouri, Maryland and Ohio. The company's high-quality cannabis genetics, connection to athletes and focus on changing the narrative have made the company a favorite among enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike.

“We are incredibly excited to partner with Pleasantrees, a company that shares our commitment to quality and excellence,” Reggie Harris, CEO of House of Kush told Benzinga. “Michigan has a vibrant and growing cannabis community, and we can’t wait to introduce our legacy genetics and innovative products to this market. Pleasantrees’ dedication to cultivating premium cannabis makes them the perfect partner for us.”

Social Justice Is A Must

Harris pointed to Pleasantrees’ connection to Michigan's White Boy Rick, that is Rick Wershe Jr., who was released in July 2020 after serving 33 years in federal prison. Harris said this connection is what made it "apparent to us that their views on social justice, education and community involvement aligned with how we approach the industry." This in addition to needing "great partners and others to recognize you belong in the game. Pleasantrees adds credibility to us, not just in Michigan but for other markets."

Not to mention that "Michigan is one of the largest cannabis markets in the country and for us to be part of it means a lot. First, you always want to compete against the best," Harris added.

It’s Mutual, Says Pleasantrees’ President

"Pleasantrees is eager for Michigan to see the genetics that House of Kush (HOK) has been able to curate over the years," Pleasantrees president Bryan Wickersham told Benzinga. “The additional product innovation coming from the HOK team will be sure to keep everyone on their toes.”
