Michigan's Cannabis Market Continues To Grow
In Michigan, Benzinga's home state, NOXX Cannabis announced the grand opening celebration of its Woodward dispensary this Saturday, Aug. 24.
Located at 23622 Woodward Ave, between 9 Mile and 10 Mile Roads, the recreational cannabis store will offer a wide "selection of deli flower, deep discounts, unique atmosphere and ample parking to create a cannabis experience like no other," general manager Jessica Troester said.
Meanwhile, Detroit's Corktown is set to introduce Wake-N-Bakery, originally from Chicago, which will open its doors at 1441 Elizabeth Street.
The menu features a unique twist, starting with THC-free beverages that patrons can customize by adding THC infusions. Options range from a mild 10-milligram dose to a potent 100-milligram option. The bakery also offers THC-infused pastries and CBD products for dogs.
California's Three New Cannabis Shops
The Cure Company Melrose Dispensary announced this week the grand opening of its newest retail location at 4316 Melrose Ave in Los Angeles. The company said each product at The Cure Company Melrose Dispensary is crafted in its indoor cannabis garden in Downtown Los Angeles. The store features OG flowers such as GG OG and Sour OG, alongside strains like Marathon OG, developed in collaboration with the late Nipsey Hussle. In addition to flower, The Cure Company also offers strain-specific cannabis oils, distillate cartridges and an array of edibles.
Green Qween, a pioneering Queer cannabis dispensary, announced earlier this month the opening of West Hollywood's first LGBTQ+owned dispensary in the Rainbow District. The move comes as Tristan Schukraft, tech entrepreneur and "The CEO of Everything Gay" acquires Zen Cannabis and invests in Green Qween. Schukraft has teamed up with Green Qween co-founders Andrés Rigal and Taylor Bazley who opted to relocate and rebrand Zen Cannabis as Green Qween.
The Artist Tree announced in August the opening of the first licensed cannabis dispensary and consumption lounge at 4756 W. Imperial Highway in Hawthorne. The location represents the 9th retail venue in The Artist Tree chain. The soft opening of The Artist's Tree Hawthorne location took place on Thursday, Aug. 15. The grand opening party to greet the community is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 31.

Wiz Khalifa's Khalifa Kush Products And Store In Las Vegas
Planet 13 Holdings Inc. PLTH PLNH announced last week an exclusive partnership with multi-platinum selling, GRAMMY and Golden Globe nominated artist Wiz Khalifa's Khalifa Kush to cultivate, manufacture and sell Khalifa Kush premium products “Powered by Planet 13” at the world's largest dispensary just off the strip in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Khalifa Kush will open its first-ever “Store in Store” inside the Planet 13 dispensary offering exclusive merch and strains Powered by Planet 13. To celebrate the launch, Wiz Khalifa plans to make an appearance at Planet 13 on Friday, Aug. 30.
Other New Stores That Kicked Off Cannabis Sales In US And Canada
MariMed Inc. MRMD MRMD kicked off this week by announcing the opening of Thrive Wellness in Upper Marlboro in Maryland. The new retail location is MariMed's second adult-use dispensary in Maryland, located at 9520 Marlboro Pike in Prince George's County, Upper Marlboro.
Multi-state cannabis company C3 Industries has opened its second retail location in Illinois, High Profile Martinsville, and its 27th dispensary nationwide. Located at 3001 N York Street in Martinsville, the store sells recreational cannabis and also offers customers the opportunity to join the High Roller Loyalty program with the ability to earn points on every dollar, with the option to redeem points for discounts and reduce cannabis pricing.
High Tide Inc.'s HITI HITI 2LYA Canna Cabana retail cannabis store located at 2090 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, Ontario will start selling recreational cannabis products and consumption accessories for recreational use on Friday, Aug. 23. The new shop represents the company’s 182nd Canna Cabana branded retail cannabis location in Canada, the 68th in the province of Ontario and the 7th in the city of Mississauga.
