Zinger Key Points

San Francisco's cannabis scene is gearing up for its own version of SF Beer Week or SF Restaurant Week, but with a twist. SF Space Walk, one of the city's best cannabis lounge crawls, returns for its second year, promising an even bigger and bolder celebration of California's top-tier weed.

Running from April 13 to 20, this event showcases the intersection of cannabis, culture and community, cementing San Francisco's status as a global epicenter of high-end consumption lounges.

Seven Nights, Seven Lounges, Seven Exclusive Strains

The formula remains the same: seven elite cultivators, seven strain drops, seven of SF's finest cannabis lounges—all leading up to the grand finale on 4/20. Expect thousands of cannabis aficionados to flood the city, hunting for the freshest genetics from brands like Snowtill, Sense Cannabis, Sunset Connect, Bosky, Alien Labs, 710 Labs, Team Elite Genetics, Nasha and Trap. With organizers expecting more than 10,000 RSVPs, the event isn't just about hype; it's a major economic boost for participating retailers and cultivators.

Strain drops include the much-anticipated Donny Burger, Mirage, Piescream, Champu, G-Nut #11 and John Connor. The festival also integrates art, music, food and neighborhood activation, making it a uniquely San Francisco affair.

The Lounges That Set The Stage

Consumption lounges are at the heart of SF Space Walk. While other states wrestle with regulatory gray zones, San Francisco has embraced the model, offering fully licensed, luxury cannabis experiences that outshine the underground. Participating venues include Moe Greens, Russian Hill Cannabis Club, Mission Cannabis Club, Solful on Irving, The Green Door and 7 Stars | Exit Now.

Each night, these spots will transform into cannabis launchpads, hosting what can best be described as ‘drop parties'—akin to vinyl record release events but with fire flower.

San Francisco: A Cannabis Powerhouse

California's legal cannabis industry is a $5 billion-a-year behemoth, generating roughly $600 million in state taxes. And yet, despite this scale, legal sales only capture about 40% of total demand, with the unregulated market still dominating. SF Space Walk seeks to push legal cannabis into the spotlight, emphasizing the craftsmanship, innovation and economic power of the licensed sector.

"This is the city that put Girl Scout Cookies, Gelato, Sunset Sherbert, and medical cannabis on the map," says Shannon McInerney, festival team member and sales rep at PAX. "It only makes sense that we keep pushing the culture forward."

A Festival With A Purpose

At its core, SF Space Walk isn't just another industry event—it's a civic project aimed at restoring San Francisco's cannabis prestige. Helmed by journalist and author David Downs, the festival spotlights the best of California weed while weaving in music, art and food.

"The San Francisco Bay Area has the best combination of lounges, flowers, growers, hash makers, food, art, music and weather IN THE WORLD," says Downs. "We're so excited to help polish SF's canna-crown and invite everyone to participate."

Retailers Feel the Surge

For dispensaries, the festival provides a financial boon. Eli Melrod, owner of Solful, sees SF Space Walk as a game-changer. "We love it. The store is packed. The audience loves meeting our fine sungrown cannabis growers. And the growers love the interaction. It's a huge sales bump for us."

Sunset Connect's Ali Jamalian, a veteran SF cultivator, echoes the sentiment. "After seven years, Sunset Connect is finally premiering our own flowers again—no better stage than SF Space Walk. Last year was a hit, and this April, we're taking it even further, activating multiple hoods, stores, and venues. We're also hosting a dispensary staff decompression brunch and dropping fresh blends of our local favorites, the Fulton 5'er and Dogwalkers. Get ready."

Get Involved

A month-long, 1,400-piece mylar art show kicks off on April 4, setting the artistic tone for the festival. Cannabis events run from April 13 to 20, culminating in 4/20 celebrations across the city.

San Francisco's cannabis culture is far from fading—it's just getting started. With SF Space Walk leading the charge, the city is once again proving why it's the epicenter of weed innovation and excellence.
