Net income of Church & Dwight Co. Inc. CHD, the consumer products company, increased by 28 percent, from 88 cents per share in the first quarter, a year earlier, to $1.11 per share, or $80 million, in first quarter of 2010.
Increased demand of its Arm & Hammer detergent, Aim toothpaste and other products led to sales growth of 9 percent in first quarter of 2010, compared to the first quarter a year ago. The company has left its earlier outlook for net income in 2010 unchanged, which it expects to be from $3.93 to $4 per share.
