Electronic Arts (ERTS) Projects Loss

Video games maker Electronic Arts ERTS has projected a loss of 35 to 40 cents a share for the quarter ending June. This is higher than analysts’ expectations of 33 cents a share. Revenues are expected to be in the range of $460 to $500 million. This announcement pushed down share prices ahead of trading on Wednesday. The company had reported excellent results in the quarter ended March. These figures were influenced by the strong sales of games like ‘Battlefield: Bad Company 2’ and ‘Mass Effect 2’. The video games sector as a whole is expected to recover in the coming year as game makers return to normal earnings. Shares of Electronic Arts were down by 5.21% to $17.82 in trading at 12.04 p.m. in New York today.
