Sears Holdings (SHLD) Beats Earnings Estimates

Sears Holdings Corporation SHLD announced on Thursday morning that it beat consensus Wall Street earnings estimates. Sears Holdings Corporation reported that its 1st quarter net income fell to $16 million, or 14 cents per share, down from $26 million, or 21 cents per share, a year earlier. Excluding special items, the company earned 16 cents per share. Revenue at the operator of Kmart and Sears stores fell to $10.05 billion. Comparable store sales rose 1.2% at Sears domestic and 1.7% at Kmart. According to a survey of analysts by Thomson Reuters, the average Wall Street estimate called for earnings of 14 cents per share. The closing price of Sears Holdings Corporation on Wednesday was $99.56 per share.
