General Electric Gets Sued By Mitsubishi Heavy (GE)

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. has filed an antitrust suit against General Electric GE, accusing it of stifling competition using “sham” litigation. Mitsubishi has also accused GE (GE) of monopolizing the U.S. variable-speed wind turbines market. It has complained that the conglomerate is trying to drive Mitsubishi out of the U.S. turbine market. The company is seeking damages worth hundreds of millions of dollars. The suit is latest in a series of legal cases filed by the companies against each other. According to The Wall Street Journal, GE sued Mitsubishi Heavy in February for patent infringement. The case came just a month after the U.S. International Trade Commission had decided on a case filed by GE against Mistubishi in 2008. The commission had determined that Mitsubishi turbines did not infringe on GE patents.
