With continued debt fears around the corner, many European bank stocks were trading deep in the red. Eurozone governments have been warned by European Union officials today to work on major reforms to boost growth, lest Europe's economy would stagnate. The bank stocks that faired the worst in pre-market hours include Allied Irish Banks AIB, which plunged 12.8% to $2.19, Bank of Ireland IRE, which slipped 12.2% to $4.45, Lloyds Banking Group LYG, which fell 7.3% to $2.93, and National Bank of Greece NBG, which slid 6.1% to $2.47.
