JPMorgan Chase JPM may be able to close a deal to acquire Spanish ports belonging to Dragados, a subsidiary of builder ACS ACSAF, within a range of €700-€800 million, subject to debt financing. According to a source involved in the deal, "The enterprise value of the deal is between 700 (and) 800 million euros. What has to happen is that the sources of debt financing have to sort out whether they are available or not." The US Supreme Court overturned a ruling that barred Monsanto Co MON from selling its genetically modified alfalfa seed. The lower court had stalled the sales until the completion of alfalfa seed’s impact study on nearby crops. Shares of MON gained around 0.7% after the Supreme Court overturned the lower court decision on 7-1 vote. Chipmakers Advanced Micro Devices Inc AMD and Micron Technology MU are amongst the biggest gainers in the technology sector today. The surge in the US market moved the entire sector higher. Shares of AMD gained around 2% and MU’s shares moved up 1.75%. Some other stocks that supported the tech sector are eBay Inc EBAY; Apple Inc AAPL and Cisco Systems Inc CSCO. British shares soared today following China’s plan to allow flexibility in its currency against the US dollar. According to China, this move would help in its economic growth.
