General Mills Increases Dividend (GIS)

General Mills GIS announced today that its Board of Directors has approved a quarterly dividend of 28 cents per share. The new annualized dividend rate of $1.12 per share represents a 17 percent increase over the $0.96 per share dividend paid in fiscal 2010. The General Mills Board of Directors has also approved an authorization for the company to repurchase up to 100 million common shares Shares of General Mills finished the regular trading session up 6 cents, or 0.16%, to $37.40. Shares rose slight after hours by 0.13% to $37.45.
