Toyota (TM) To Recall Another 270,000 Vehicles

Troubled Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation TM has begun yet another recall. The most recent Toyota (TM) recall is due to flaws in the valve springs in the engines of Toyota Lexus and Crown vehicles. The defect is a serious one because it could lead to the vehicle stalling while it is in motion. Toyota announced that it will begin recalling nearly 92,000 vehicles in Japan and the total is expected to reach 270,000 vehicles worldwide. With about 138,000 vehicles to be recalled in the U.S., the U.S. will account for about half of the recalls. The latest recall comes just one week after Toyota recalled 17,000 Lexus hybrids because it was discovered that fuel can spill when the vehicle is involved in a rear-end accident. The Japanese automaker has already recalled more than 8.5 million vehicles since it's quality problems surfaced last year.
