By 12:23 pm, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 205.29 points, or 1.98%, to 10,154.02, while the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index had lost 25.06 points, or 2.29%. The NASDAQ composite index had fallen 55.24 points, or 2.46%.
Some of the narrow based indexes supporting the markets are Chinese Education Stocks, which have gained 0.4%, Bond ETFs, up 0.2%, and Debt-Focused Closed-End Funds, moving 0.1% lower as a group.
In Tickerspy's Chinese Education complex, China Distance Education Holdings Limited DL had surged 3.1%. DL’s shares have fallen 42.07% over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 16.56% in the same period.
The best performing Tickerspy Bond ETFs stock has been Vanguard World Funds EDV, which was up 0.9%.
Invesco Van Kampen Municipal Trust VKQ is today’s leading Tickerspy's Debt-Focused Closed-End Funds stock, gaining 0.9%.
