By 1:26 pm, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 2.64 points, or 0.03%, to 10,227.32, while the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index had lost 1.75 points, or 0.16%. The NASDAQ composite index fell 5.14 points, or 0.23%.
Some of the narrow based indexes supporting the markets are Chinese Solar Stocks, which have gained 2.7%, RF Semiconductor Stocks, up 2.4%, and Vehicle Rental Stocks, moving 2.1% higher as a group.
In Tickerspy's Chinese Solar complex, China Sunergy Co Ltd CSUN had surged 10.1%. Analyst Vishal Shah at Barclays Capital reiterated his “buy” rating on CSUN.
The best performing Tickerspy RF Semiconductor stock has been RF Micro Devices Inc RFMD, which was up 2.8%. RFMD has repurchased and retired $110 million of its outstanding convertible subordinated notes.
Hertz Global Holdings Inc HTZ is today’s leading Tickerspy's Vehicle Rental stock, gaining 5.1%. HTZ is set to report its Q2 earnings on August 4.
