US Airways July Traffic Report

U.S. Airways LCC has reported year to date 2010 traffic results as of July, showing mainline revenue passenger miles for the month were 5.7 billion, up 1.1% over July 2009 according to MarketWatch. US Airways President Scott Kirby was quoted saying, "Our July consolidated (mainline and Express) passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) increased approximately 16 percent versus the same period last year while total revenue per available seat mile increased approximately 17 percent on a year-over-year basis. This improvement was largely driven by continued year-over-year strength in business demand and yield." Other July 2010 accomplishments for U.S. Airways included: -new bilateral codeshare agreement with Star Alliance partner, Turkish Airlines. US Airways customers will have access to Istanbul via Turkish Airlines service from Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich and will gain access to four new destinations including Adana, Izmir, Antalya and Ankara via Istanbul. In addition, US Airways customers may opt for nonstop travel to Istanbul via Turkish Airlines service at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Chicago O'Hare International Airport. -$150 payout to each employee for delivering top Dept. of Transportation rankings for the month of May 2010 in on-time performance, baggage handling and customer satisfaction among the five largest network carriers. U.S. Airways Group, Ltd closed yesterday at $10.66.
