Rambus Reportedly Suing IBM Over Patent Infringement

Rambus RMBS is suing International Business Machines IBM in an attempt to reverse a U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s ruling involving the chip designer’s previously patented memory system. The lawsuit, filed Monday in federal court, alleges the federal agency’s finding in which it ruled a patent application assigned to IBM did not infringe on a Rambus patent obtained at the end of 2002, was in error, according to a Thomson Reuters report.
