Despite a global market slowdown for cryptocurrencies, NFT sentiment remains strong with a total of over $2.5 billion worth of digital art being sold in the first half of 2021. Whispers within various insider communities, including digital assets investors and artists, suggest that the real NFT boom is yet to come, as innovative collaborations come to life that captures both collector demand and newfound interest.
Fresh off of their recently released decentralized NFT platform, Featured by Binance has announced the next round of exclusive NFT drops. On July 19th, a special collaboration between two acclaimed artists, Matt “Burns” Burns and Justice “Good Energy” Laub, goes live with a total of 8 sets of artwork being sold in the first official NFT drop for both artists, respectively.
From producing music and art for some of the biggest entertainers in the world to being at the forefront of decentralization within artist communities, Burns and Good Energy merge a love of technology, art, music, and culture in an inspirational NFT drop titled ‘Postcard From Another Plane’.
Art Meets Music With “Postcards From Another Plane”
From July 19th to July 21st, collectors will get a chance to buy and support two artists that have combined unique skill sets under a common vision titled “Postcards From Another Plane”. “Postcards From Another Plane” was inspired by the concept of metaphysics, represented often by maps, stamps, and postcards. Each NFT represents a real story with a distinct time and place in Good Energy’s journey.
The drop will offer collectors the chance to buy six one-day pieces and two limited edition pieces, for a total of 8 unique NFTs. It is important to note that one of the pain points of NFT collectors has been gas fees on the Ethereum network, a concern that is alleviated on Binance since buyers will benefit from the low fees and speed of BNB.
One could argue that ‘Postcards From Another Plane’ is a perfect representation of both artists that have approached life with a multi-disciplinary lens that has allowed each to attack multiple genres and interests with astute proficiency.
For Good Energy, this includes a challenging childhood marked by a learning disability and overcoming that disability to prosper in industries such as marketing, visual art, and blockchain as one of the first vocal proponents of Bitcoin in many Hollywood circles. This convergence of art and tech-led Good Energy to be the artist in residence at a 40,000 square foot science incubator in LA, where he gained an appreciation for biohacking and other emerging tech. Good Energy’s work has been collected by VCs, executives, crypto whales, and inventors who appreciate his esoteric outlook on life and creativity.
Good Energy explains, “I am very excited to be working with Burns and Featured by Binance as we bring artists and collectors from all over the world together through a mutual love of art and a shared experience living through the early stages of blockchain. Binance has cultivated one of the best global communities and this drop makes it possible for people from anywhere in the world to enjoy the art. This is done through extremely fair pricing and accessibility.”
Los Angeles-based producer, DJ, and songwriter Burns is best known for producing music for some of the biggest stars in the world. These include Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Pitbull, Tiesto, Britney Spears, and more. With a diverse set of musical influences, Burns has made his mark on hip hop, pop, and electronic music with the foresight to know what people would like and what trends would impact the music industry. Since 2017, Burns has also been passionate about decentralization and how blockchain technology can positively impact society.
Burns says, “Ever since I met Justice and was introduced to his art back in 2018, I’ve been totally enamored by his personality and his talents. We spoke on multiple occasions about collaborating on art together in whatever capacity felt right but we never seemed to get the chance. I’m delighted to say that finally we found the right moment to do something and to begin our creative journey together. It was a pleasure to soundtrack these incredible pieces by Justice and to add a whole new dynamic to the work. I love Justice’s passion for bringing people together through art and am extremely happy to be a part of that.”
