In the last few years we have witnessed explosive growth in the crypto NFT market. In the third quarter of 2021 alone, sales in the market jumped to a staggering $10.7 billion – an eightfold increase over the second quarter. Much of that growth is being fueled by speculators buying and selling static NFTs in the hopes of earning massive returns on resales. All the while, a variety of industries have looked for ways to develop new products that make use of NFTs, to varying degrees of success.

Now, on October 21st, American video game and software development firm SIGMA Studios will launch a new crypto token - $CHAMP - built to bring something new to the NFT space: an NFT-powered play-to-earn MMORPG. 
They've partnered with the reputable crypto launchpad TrustSwap to manage the event, which will precede the game's launch. The game, titled NFT Champions, offers players a unique new way to earn NFTs through next-generation blockchain gameplay that's unlike anything that has come before it.

In fact, it's the first NFT-centric play-to-earn open-world game where players have the opportunity to earn both money and rewards by completing in-game events. Players can build their team of NFT monsters and train them to max out their battle stats. They can also use the game's DNA Lab to fuse their high-level monsters together to unlock even greater abilities.
And all along, they can battle other players in the game world to hone their skills and their monsters' abilities. Or, they can opt to explore the world to forge new alliances as they complete the game's online campaign mode. 
Either way, all of their hard work will culminate in a team capable of taking on the biggest challenges the game has to offer – raid bosses, tournaments, and live events.

Players will also be able to buy and sell their NFT monsters in the built-in trading marketplace using the platform's native $CHAMP token. Players need only purchase their first NFT Champion monster or receive a gift of one from another player to get started. 
From there, they can invest as much or as little as they like – and can build their team through training and competition however they choose. There are even opportunities to earn exclusive rewards and limited-time NFTs from in-game events.

But not every NFT Champion will be up for sale forever. Each unique monster comes with a mint limit – after which they'll only be available to buy from other owners. This provides owners with a massive incentive to train their monsters to the max. 
And once they do, they can hold on to them forever, or choose to sell them on the marketplace to earn massive returns. In other words – the NFT Champions marketplace is a self-sustaining one that gives every player another chance to turn their hours of gameplay into real money.

They'll be the ones animating the marketplace through their love of the game and its engaging in-game world. They'll also be the ones reaping the rewards of their dedicated NFT Champion training. And that's something new in the red-hot NFT world. And it also makes NFT Champions more than worth paying attention to.
