Bitcoin BTC/USD, the world’s oldest cryptocurrency, managed to stay strong on Friday despite concerns that the cryptocurrency might lose some value after the electric vehicle maker Tesla sold 75% of its BTC holdings.
Bitcoin rose above the $23,000 level on early Friday morning, but gave up some gains later in the session.
Several other popular altcoins, including Bitcoin Gold BTG/USD and Curve DAO Token CRV/USD, recorded minor gains over the previous 24 hours.
At the time of writing, the global cryptocurrency market capitalization increased to $1.05 trillion, notching a 24-hour rise of around 2.5%. BTC was trading lower by around 0.9% to $22,935, while ETH fell around 1.2% to $1,567.83 on Friday.
Investors are now awaiting earnings results from Verizon Communications Inc. VZ and Twitter, Inc. TWTR, scheduled for release today.
