Bitcoin BTC/USD and Ethereum ETH/USD, the two most valued cryptocurrencies in the world, traded lower on Thursday after the US Federal Reserve increased interest rates by 75 bps at its latest meeting.
Fed Chairman Jerome Powell, meanwhile, said it’s very premature to think about pausing rate hikes.
Dogecoin DOGE/USD also recorded losses on Thursday after recording gains in the recent period.
Arweave AR/USD was the top gainer over the prior 24 hours, while Chain XCN/USD turned out to be the biggest loser.
At the time of writing, the global crypto market cap fell to $1.00 trillion, recording a 24-hour decline of 0.5%. BTC was trading lower by 1.4% at $20,131, while ETH fell by around 1.6% to $1,531 on Thursday.
