Since our previous development update in October, we’ve introduced live chat support, updated our documentation portal, improved the look and feel of the platform, streamlined payments and onboarding, and added SSH key management and operating system templates.
Background
Earlier this year, Cudo Compute officially launched. These regular updates aim to inform users and prospects about new features and functionality and the future roadmap.
Progress update – December 2022
- Cudo Compute Support and Live Chat – you can now talk to our support team live, in-app if you run into any issues, problems, or need to request assistance

- Updated Documentation portal – we’ve rewritten our documentation since the last development update to be more clear and concise. We also released documentation for our terraform provider, API, and tutorials for everyday use cases.
- Updated look and feel – we’ve updated the look and feel of projects and billing accounts to ensure they show more helpful information, such as project collaborators and payment details.
- New Onboarding Wizard – to make it much more intuitive to get started on Cudo Compute, we’ve implemented a brand new onboarding experience to ensure you are hand-held throughout. This included allowing you to view the marketplace before needing to add payment details!

- More granular payment information is now required when adding payment details to the Cudo Compute platform, including address and postcode validation, to make our platform safer.
- We added some highly requested operating system templates based on user feedback. We now support the latest versions of Ubuntu and Fedora, with CentOS 9 and Windows 10 just around the corner.
Advanced SSH key management when building virtual machines from the marketplace. You can either select to add only your SSH key, add all of the project collaborator SSH keys or even type in the specific SSH keys you want to be added.

- Cudo Compute Status Page – We’ve created an externally hosted page to monitor the uptime and performance of the entire Cudo Compute platform. This is an excellent first port of call if you notice any issues with the platform.
- Many minor bug fixes and improvements.
Stay tuned for the upcoming features to be released on Cudo Compute!
What to do now?

About Cudo Compute
Cudo Compute is a fairer cloud computing platform for everyone. It provides access to distributed resources by leveraging underutilised computing globally on idle data centre hardware. It allows users to deploy virtual machines on the world’s first democratised cloud platform, finding the optimal resources in the ideal location at the best price.
Cudo Compute aims to democratise the public cloud by delivering a more sustainable economic, environmental, and societal model for computing by empowering businesses and individuals to monetise unused resources.
Our platform allows organisations and developers to deploy, run and scale based on demands without the constraints of centralised cloud environments. As a result, we realise significant availability, proximity and cost benefits for customers by simplifying their access to a broader pool of high-powered computing and distributed resources at the edge.
