Ethereum ETH/USD, also edged higher, with prices trading above the key $1,200 mark on Tuesday.
Kava KAVA/USD was the top gainer over the prior 24 hours, while Internet Computer ICP/USD turned out to be the biggest loser.
At the time of writing, the global crypto market cap rose to $808.36 billion, recording a 24-hour gained of 0.2%. BTC was trading higher by 0.2% at $16,739, while ETH rose by around 0.1% to $1,217 on Tuesday.
