Super Bowl LVII: No Crypto Ad Campaigns On Biggest Sporting Event Of The Year After FTX Collapse

Fans watching Super Bowl LVII on Feb. 12 will not be exposed to any advertising campaigns from crypto companies. 

What Happened: Four potential commercial deals with crypto firms for the 2023 Super Bowl, totaling approximately $6 to $7 million, had been in the works until their untimely end due to the FTX bankruptcy filing in November, according to a report in Associated Press.

Fox Sports executive vice president of ad sales Mark Evans reportedly said that there would be "zero representation" from crypto companies during the upcoming Super Bowl. 

In Super Bowl LVI of 2022, companies including FTX, eToro, Crypto.com, and Coinbase aired commercials. FTX chose to feature comedian Larry David in its ad — and nine months later, the firm filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and its former CEO, Sam Bankman-Fried, is facing fraud charges.
