Canadian psychologist and cultural critic Jordan Peterson has expressed an interest in joining the Bitcoin BTC/USD Lightning Network, after being challenged by a Twitter user and journalist Joe Nakamoto to disclose a Bitcoin lightning address, rather than using the fundraising portal GoFundMe.
Peterson had tweeted a GoFundMe page seeking funds to assist a fire victim who had suffered losses, and Nakamoto suggested he create a lightning address instead.
A lightning address would allow donations from people all over the world, including those without debit or credit cards.

Peterson, unfamiliar with the process, expressed a willingness to embrace the Lightning Network.

Several Twitter users offered to assist Peterson in setting up the address.
Peterson has previously praised Bitcoin for its potential, particularly in the face of growing inflation.
The Lightning Network is a second-layer solution for the Bitcoin blockchain that enables almost instant, low-cost transactions.
As of Feb. 15, the network's capacity has reached an all-time high, with more than 60% growth since the start of 2022, and is currently set at 5.53 BTC.
Its ability to overcome the problems seen on the Bitcoin mainnet has made it an appealing option for individuals and organizations.
