Medical Marijuana Names New CEO
Medical Marijuana, Inc. MJNA appointed Dr. Timothy R. Scott to serve as its new chief executive officer, president and chairman of the board, earlier this month, succeeding Blake N. Schroeder.
Scott takes the helm of the organization after serving on the company's board since 2015, as well as for several years on the Boards of both of the entities that comprise the company's investment holdings. In addition, he recently accepted a position as the chief people officer.
"We expect to see substantial consolidation in the industry and are positioning the Company to take advantage of this by undertaking significant financial and operational restructuring efforts to increase efficiencies, preserve and increase cash flow, incentivize key employees, and increase our portfolio investments," Scott said.
Xebra, Cansortium And RWB Name New CFOs
Xebra Brands Ltd. XBRA XBRAD 9Y has appointed Omar Garcia Abrego as its new CFO and corporate secretary.
Garcia Abrego is a Canadian chartered professional accountant (CPA, CA) as well as a certified public accountant (CPC) in Mexico with over 25 years of progressive international accounting experience within the public and private markets.
Cansortium Inc. TIUM CNTMF, which operates under the Fluent brand, tapped Jeffrey Batliner to oversee its financial department, succeeding Liora Boudin, who served as interim CFO.
Batliner brings more than 25 years of financial expertise to Cansortium. He most recently served as CFO of Unrivaled Brands, a publicly traded cannabis firm, where he led three successful acquisition integrations, established efficient reporting processes and effectively controlled the company's cash flow.
Red White & Bloom Brands Inc. RWB RWBYF hired Edoardo (Eddie) Mattei as its CFO and corporate secretary. As of December, Mattei was contracted by the company in a fractional role to assist with the orderly transition and timely restructuring of the Company's Finance, Information Technology, and Human Resources teams.
Charlotte's Web, 4Front Ventures Appoint New Board Members
Charlotte's Web Holdings, Inc. CWEB CWBHF recently welcomed Jonathan P. Atwood to its board of directors.
Atwood brings extensive senior executive experience within the consumer packaged goods industry with roles at British American Tobacco, Reynolds American, Unilever and Kraft Foods. Currently, he serves as the group head of business communications for BAT.
4Front Ventures Corp. FFNT FFNTF tapped cannabis industry veteran Kris Krane to its board of directors following the resignation of Kathi Lentzsch.
Krane spent the last two decades working to advance the cannabis industry and movement, having served as associate director of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML), executive director of Students for Sensible Drug Policy and is currently chair of the National Cannabis Industry Association's board of directors. From 2011 through 2021, he served as president of 4Front.
