A lengthy academic paper about Bitcoin BTC/USD, authored by a U.S. Space Force major, has become a bestseller on Amazon.
What Happened: Written by Jason Lowery, the paper was the result of research conducted during a six-month fellowship at MIT, sponsored by the Department of Defense.
The paper, titled “Softwar: A Novel Theory on Power Projection and the National Strategic Significance of Bitcoin,” suggests that Bitcoin could potentially be used for securing the information on a military-grade level.
According to Lowery’s Amazon bio, he has advised senior US officials in offices related to the president, Secretary of Defense, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff on Bitcoin-related policy.

In the paper, Lowrey also highlights that the US could potentially face a threat to its national security if it fails to maintain sufficient reserves of Bitcoin, especially if the network becomes widely used as a cybersecurity tool.
