The Bitcoin Association hosted a successful web3 event recently, bringing together leaders from around the web3 industry. The event saw the discussion of new and innovative ideas surrounding the future of blockchain.
A notable presentation came from Professor Latif Ladid, Founder and President of the IPv6 Forum.
Professor Ladid spoke about the transformative power of IPv6 and specifically, how having a unique IP address that stays with the individual constant much in the same way an individual has their own phone number unlocks the full potential of the internet and web3.
The majority of the internet still uses IPv4, a protocol that was invented in the 70s and, as Professor Ladid argues, is an inferior protocol that is holding the world back from the full power of the web.
