'Bitcoin Jesus' Challenges Musk, Zuckerberg For Cage Fight; Says Winner Chooses Primary Crypto For Twitter, Facebook

Roger Ver, one of the earliest investors in Bitcoin BTC/USD and the CEO of Bitcoin.com, has thrown down the gauntlet to two of the biggest names in tech — Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.

What Happened: In a Twitter post on Wednesday, Ver, popularly known as ‘Bitcoin Jesus' declared that he would be happy to take on Musk and Zuckerberg in a cage fight, with the winner getting to choose the primary cryptocurrency for Twitter, Facebook, and Bitcoin.com

Ver, who stands at 5’10” and weighs 154 pounds, made this challenge as the two industry juggernauts tease their much-anticipated showdown.

This challenge comes after Elon Musk took to Twitter and openly expressed his willingness to fight Zuckerberg.

Why It Matters: On Tuesday evening, Musk addressed rumors that Meta Platforms Inc. was planning to launch a rival platform called Threads that could potentially pose a threat to Twitter.

Musk warned that if such a platform was launched, it would give Zuckerberg exclusive control over the Earth and leave no other alternative for users.

A Twitter user responded to Musk, cautioning him about Zuckerberg’s prowess in martial arts. To this, Musk replied, “I’m up for a cage match if he is lol."

Zuckerberg then took to Instagram to share a screenshot of Musk’s tweet, along with a quote from UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov’s famous catchphrase: “Send me location.”

Price Action: At the time of writing,  BTC was trading at $30,330.69, up 5.43% in the last 24 hours, according to Benzinga Pro.
