  • A portion of the proceeds will go toward Melania Trump's "Fostering the Future" initiative.

While Melania Trump’s previous non-fungible token collections have amounted to a massive loss for investors, the former first lady is taking another stab at the digital art space, this time by releasing a set of six NFTs that “Celebrate our independence.”

The set of NFTs, which Trump’s office announced the release of on Thursday, is titled “The 1776 Collection” and commemorates Independence Day.

According to Fox News, a portion of the proceeds will go toward Mrs. Trump’s “Fostering the Future” initiative, which helps to provide scholarships to foster children exiting the foster community.

"The 1776 Collection of artwork draws inspiration from several iconic landmarks of our nation, which I had the privilege of visiting during the time I served as first lady," Trump told the outlet.

The Details: Each American-themed NFT, minted using Solana, is selling for $50, and collectors of all six tokens will receive a bonus “Home of the Brave” NFT, which will have its image revealed on July 4.

The NFTs, which feature images of the Statue of Liberty, the Declaration of Independence and Mount Rushmore, also come with a “patriotic-themed music track,” that hasn’t yet been revealed.

It’s unknown whether the soundtrack includes her husband’s rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” titled “Justice for All,” which features the musical talents of inmates serving time in prison for storming the Capitol on Jan. 6, and which topped the iTunes chart in March.

Multiple people are serving prison sentences for their part in the insurrection that former President Donald Trump allegedly helped incite in 2021 — a very different type of rebellion than in 1776, when 13 American colonies won the War of Independence, resulting in the nation's birth.
