Ronin Collaborates With CyberKongz To Launch Anime-Inspired NFT Collection Called Genkai

Sky Mavis announced a new partnership with CyberKongz, the creators of an Ethereum-based NFT collection ETH/USD Genkai, an anime-inspired art collection available on Ronin's NFT marketplace, Mavis Market.

Sky Mavis is also behind the successful Axie Infinity AXS/USD game, which has earnings exceeding $1.3 billion.

Jihoz, Axie Infinity and Sky Mavis co-founder, told Benzinga: "We're delighted to welcome the Kongz home to Ronin RON/USD. This union combines the two strongest communities in NFTs and I'm excited to build alongside the Kongz team."

The collaboration also extends to CyberKongz shifting its first-of-its-kind utility project, Play & Kollect, from Polygon MATIC/USD to Ronin. This strategic move ensures access to a vibrant gaming community, adding to the Web3 user experience.

Genkai's Arrival

Genkai, an anime-inspired art collection, marks the next evolution in the CyberKongz IP. It offers a total supply of 20,000 units, with 4,000 Genkai NFTs made available on Ronin via the Mavis Market and 16,000 NFTs on the Ethereum Mainnet. Sky Mavis plans a reward system for Mystic Axie holders with a Genkai NFT per Mystic Axie owned.

Genkai holds the distinction of being CyberKongz's first non-pixelated artwork. Inspired by Manga and anime rooted in Japanese folklore, Genkai is a strategic step towards expanding the CyberKongz IP into the Southeast Asian and Japanese markets.

Shared Visions and New Ventures

Sky Mavis CEO and co-founder Trung Nguyen voiced his excitement at the new partnership, highlighting the common origins of many founding members from the Axie community. The partnership aims to provide utility for both communities through a range of initiatives and integrations.

CyberKongz founder and artist Myoo echoed this sentiment, expressing the potential to accelerate the already established gaming ecosystem and further expand their holder base through the Genkai project. An ambitious venture to develop a game featuring Genkai with Ronin is also underway.

Secure Transactions and Stakeless Staking

The Genkai mint will utilize CyberKongz's advanced ERC-721x smart contract for seamless transactions and tighter security. This technology allows NFTs to be "locked" using the token standard's lock registry, preventing unauthorized asset movements. Locked NFTs can participate in "stakeless staking," accumulating rewards while being held using the lock registry.
