Bitcoin, Ethereum Edge Lower Following PPI Data; GMX Becomes Top Loser

Bitcoin BTC/USD traded lower, with the cryptocurrency prices falling below the $29,500 level on Friday.

Ethereum ETH/USD also moved lower, trading below the $1,850 mark this morning.

Producer prices in the U.S. increased 0.3% month-over-month in July, recording the biggest rise since January, following a revised flat reading for June. However, analysts were expecting a 0.2% increase in prices.

Rocket Pool RPL/USD was the top gainer over the prior 24 hours, while GMX GMX/USD turned out to be the biggest loser.

At the time of writing, the global crypto market cap fell to $1.17 trillion, recording a 24-hour decline of 0.4%. BTC was trading lower by 0.4% at $29,408 while ETH fell by around 0.3% to $1,847 on Friday.
