Bitcoin BTC/USD moved lower, with the cryptocurrency prices trading below the $28,500 level on Thursday.
Ethereum ETH/USD also recorded losses, falling below the key $1,800 mark this morning.
U.S. initial jobless claims declined by 11,000 from the previous week’s revised level to 239,000 in the week ending August 12, compared to market expectations of 240,000.
Rocket Pool RPL/USD was the top gainer over the prior 24 hours, while Sei SEI/USD turned out to be the biggest loser.
At the time of writing, the global crypto market cap fell to $1.13 trillion, recording a 24-hour decline of 1.7%. BTC was trading lower by 2.2% at $28,454 while ETH fell by around 1.8% to $1,787 on Thursday.
