Uniswap No Longer Restricted To PC, iOS: Crypto Exchange Unveils App For Android

Zinger Key Points
  • To enhance security, Ethereum transactions are routed through a private pool, mitigating potential front-running attacks.
  • Uniswap plans to release its app's open-source code following a security audit with Trail of Bits.

Decentralized crypto exchange Uniswap UNI/USD introduced a beta version of its mobile application for Android users.

Before this, Uniswap's platform was restricted to PC and iOS mobile gadgets.

Insights and developments from such platforms will be explored further at the upcoming Benzinga's Future of Digital Assets conference on Nov. 14.

Touted as a leading decentralized crypto exchange in terms of total volume, Uniswap has recorded transactions exceeding $1.7 trillion since its debut, per DefiLlama. The majority of these transactions were executed through its web platform.

The iOS mobile application was unveiled on April 13, following certain delays attributed to Apple's App Store regulations. Despite its iOS app being operational, there was no dedicated application for Android users until now.

The beta app's capability to facilitate coin selections across multiple chains eliminates the need for network swapping.

The platform intuitively identifies the coin's network and transitions seamlessly.

Currently, it supports networks like Polygon MATIC/USD, Arbitrum ARB/USD, Optimism OP/USD, Base BASE/USD, and BNB Chain BNB/USD, with plans to extend compatibility in the future.

To counter potential front-running and sandwich attacks, the wallet channels Ethereum ETH/USD transactions via a private pool (users have the option to deactivate this feature).

The wallet also recognizes coins with inherent transfer charges, ensuring users are well-informed by displaying these fees within the app.

Users keen on early access can join an email waitlist.

The Uniswap team anticipates sharing the open-source code of the app in the forthcoming weeks, aligning with its security assessment in collaboration with cybersecurity firm Trail of Bits.
