Ethereum Surpasses $3,000 Following Jobless Claims Data; Pepe Emerges As Top Gainer

Bitcoin BTC/USD moved higher, with the cryptocurrency prices trading above the key $58,000 level on Thursday.

Ethereum ETH/USD also recorded gains, trading past the key $3,000 mark this morning.

Pepe PEPE/USD was the top gainer over the prior 24 hours, while Cronos CRO/USD turned out to be the biggest loser.

U.S. initial jobless claims came in unchanged from the previous week at 208,000 during the week ending April 27, compared to market expectations of 212,000.

At the time of writing, the global crypto market cap rose to $2.19 trillion, recording a 24-hour gain of 2.3%. BTC was trading higher by 1.4% at $58,710 while ETH rose by around 3.1% to $3,001 on Thursday.
