Donald Trump's Election Odds Drop To 53%, Vice President Harris' Odds Hit Peak Of 44%, But Will They Debate?

What Happened: Trump's chances have decreased to 53%, while Vice President Harris’ chances are at a personal high 44%. Following the failed assassination attempt, the former President’s odds had peaked at 70%.

Harris' lead is driven by energized Democrats, including key blocs such as Black voters and young people. On Thursday, Polymarket data showed Trump's odds of winning the election at 55% (a 5% drop) while Harris at 43% (a 5% gain).

In a related development, Donald Trump said he would not debate Vice President Kamala Harris citing he is leading in polls and "everybody knows her, everybody knows me." The ABC News debate is scheduled for September 10. The Democratic National Committee’s newest advertising campaign states, "the convicted felon is afraid to debate," according to a Reuters report.

Why It Matters: Former chief executive of crypto platform Uphold J.P. Thieriot is trying to build a crypto following for Harris in hopes of raising funds and securing industry endorsements. Harris has already garnered crypto favouritism by having big money support from the crypto and digital assets industry.

Thieriot has also written a strategy paper with a wider group and shared it with Harris’ campaign this week. They are awaiting a response. CoinDesk reported, "We would argue that crypto is this electoral cycle's foremost interstate swing issue."
