If You Invested $1000 In Bitcoin When Eminem Mentioned The Crypto In Best-Selling Album 'Kamikaze', Here's How Much You'd Have Today

Grammy award-winning rapper Eminem is one of the few high-profile music celebrities to reference Bitcoin BTC/USD in their songs.

What happened: Back in August 2018, the musician released a track titled "Not Alike" from the best-selling album "Kamikaze."

The song also featured fellow rapper Royce Da 5'9′ who sang these lines: "Member, everybody used to bite Nickel, now everybody doin’ Bitcoin."

Don’t Miss:

To be precise, "Kamikaze" was released on Aug. 31. The rap turned out to be a good PR for Bitcoin, which back then was priced at $7,037.58.

So, if an investor got influenced by the rap, and parked $1000 in the cryptocurrency, it'd have fetched them 0.14 units then.

Now six years down the line, Bitcoin has swelled to $58,956.59, which means that 0.14 units will be valued at $8,253.84, representing a 725.38% increase.

Why It Matters: Apart from Eminem, other celebrity musicians have also time and again revealed their association with the leading cryptocurrency.

Grammy Award-winning rapper 50 Cent was one of the first to board the bandwagon by accepting BTC as payment for his album "Animal Ambition" in 2014

Rap legend Snoop Dogg publicly talked about his Bitcoin holdings and has been a vocal advocate of the digital currency revolution.

Nasir Jones, popularly known as Nas, is another visionary Bitcoiner, who famously said that "Bitcoin will evolve into an industry as big, if not bigger, than the internet."
