Shytoshi Kusama stepped down from his role as the lead visionary of the Shiba Inu SHIB/USD ecosystem on Sunday, assuming a new role as the lead ambassador.
What Happened: Kusama, whose real identity remains concealed, stated in an X post that the Shiba Inu project now needs execution and communication more than vision.
“I can now say I have accomplished my initial goal with flying colors. Shib remains in the top 20 tokens, Shibarium has 800 million flawless transactions, and so much more,” Kusama highlighted a fulfilled vision. “Simply put, there is no more vision needed, only execution and communications.”
The pseudonymous personality said that his new role as the lead ambassador will allow him to drive the global adoption of Shiba Inu more effectively.
“My job moving forward will be to guide projects interested in building with the 36 Chambers of Tech (rebranded to ShibOS simply because there are more than 36 now) and helping them implement global solutions at all levels with our technologies,” he stated. Kusama will also seek partners to incorporate new technologies into the project’s stack, ensuring a robust system.
The former lead also hinted at his own upcoming projects, including the “44 Tenets to Triumph in Crypto,” and assured his continued dedication to Shiba Inu.

Why It Matters: Kusama, also called “Shy” within the Shiba Inu community, has overseen the ecosystem since founder Ryoshi’s sudden exit in 2022.
In July of last year, he claimed that the initiative to realize founder Ryoshi’s vision of a completely decentralized system with no leader was nearing completion and he would also “step away from the limelight” at some point.
Kusama’s role transition comes at a crucial time for Shiba Inu. The cryptocurrency project launched its 4th ecosystem token, TREAT, to further Ryoshi’s vision. Other tokens include SHIB, the popular meme coin, Doge Killer (LEASH), and Bone ShibaSwap BONE/USD.
Price Action: At the time of writing, SHIB was exchanging hands at $0.00001816, down 9.72% in the last 24 hours, according to data from Benzinga Pro.
