A new wave of meme coin speculation has erupted on Solana SOL/USD following the debut of ChatGPT's latest AI image generation feature.
What Happened: In an X post on March 25, Sam Altman announced ChatGPT-4o's enhanced AI image generation capabilities.
The new feature sparked widespread excitement, with users comparing the AI-generated visuals to the distinctive art style of Studio Ghibli.
The Studio is a Japanese animation studio with an expansive portfolio to include short subjects, television commercials and some television films.

Traders quickly capitalized on the trend, launching multiple Ghibli-themed meme coins on Solana.
The biggest gainer, Ghiblification (GHIBLI), currently at a $17 million market cap, surged to as high as 35,000% within hours.
The frenzy was so intense that exchange CoinEx Global listed GHIBLI almost immediately, enabling trading against USDT.
Elon Musk Sparks DOGE Speculation
Celebrities like Elon Musk, Ripple Executive David Schwartz and Sam Altman joined the AI art craze and created Ghibli style images for themselves. Elon Musk posted a playful image of himself as a monkey holding the Dogecoin mascot.

Musk's involvement has reignited DOGE speculation, as he has a history of pumping dog-themed meme coins through cryptic social media posts.
