Volvo Cars launched its EX30 fully-electric small SUV at a starting price of around €36,000 (~$38,500).
The EX30 is launched in Milan, Italy, and is available to order now in selected markets. The SUV is available at a similar price to combustion engine-powered equivalents.
"Speaking of cutting-edge tech: the Volvo EX30 is our first car to include a new generation of our popular Park Pilot Assist feature," the company said. The EX30 can handle all parking spaces, including parallel, curved, perpendicular, and diagonal fishbone-style, making parking in tight spaces a breeze.
The SUV is designed to have the lowest carbon footprint of any Volvo car and represents a significant step forward for sustainability ambitions.
The Volvo EX30 is available for order across Europe and other selected markets. In the U.S., customers can place pre-orders.
Volvo Car estimates EX30 to cater to the growing demand for fully electric cars in a fast-growing segment.
"We like to say the EX30 is small yet mighty, because it delivers on everything you'd want from a Volvo but in a smaller package," said CEO Jim Rowan.
Volvo Cars is listed on the Nasdaq Stockholm exchange.
