Coinbase Officially Launches In Canada To Boost International Expansion

Coinbase Global, Inc. COIN expands in Canada with new offerings through a partnership with Peoples Trust Company, part of Peoples Group.

With the development, Coinbase will boost its international footprint and provide access to Interac e-Transfers to its complete Canadian user base to securely move money in and out of the account. 

The pact will make cryptocurrencies more accessible to millions of Canadians, the company said.

"Canada is well positioned to be a global leader in the cryptoeconomy thanks to the high levels of crypto awareness, a passionate local tech ecosystem, and the progress towards a strong regulatory framework," said Nana Murugesan, Vice President, International and Business Development, Coinbase. 

Coinbase Ventures has been active across Canada. The firm's Canadian portfolio companies include Dapper Labs, Minerva AI, Axelar, Horizon Blockchain Games, and Zapper.

"As Coinbase's next Go Deep Market, we are making significant investments to help Canadians access the benefits of cryptocurrency," Murugesan added. 

The company added that Canadian Coinbase users can also maximize the full potential of crypto with the best of Coinbase One through membership with Coinbase One.
